Sands of the Kalahari - 8 days/7 nights 2 nights Somalisa
Camp, Hwange National Park
1 night The Kingdom Hotel, Victoria Falls
2 nights Linyanti Bush Camp
2 nights Kwara Camp, Okavango Delta
Four
million years ago there was a sandstorm. One that lasted
ten’s
of years. In this sandstorm the Kalahari desert gained territory
blowing sand as far north as Hwange in Zimbabwe and as far west
as areas of Livingstone in Zambia. Small ancient rivers that flowed
in these areas were choked to form modern day vleis, areas rich
in mineral wealth as a result attracting a large variety of wildlife.
To this day the unique habitat that results from a normal rainfall
combined with desert sands is home to some of the most diverse
wildlife areas. This safari explores the wildlife, flora and fauna
in these “artificially” desert areas.
