Journey in Detail
Upon you arrival at Maun International Airport you will be met
by your private guide and transferred by light aircraft to Motswiri
Keitumetse Camp on the edge of the Okavango Delta for a 4 night
stay.
Motswiri Ketumetse Camp, Okavango Delta - 4 nights
Motswiri Ketumetse Camp is a small traditional tented safari camp
that is built on the banks of Selinda Spillway in the extreme west
of the Selinda Reserve. Here the annual blessing of the Okavango's
flood waters meanders past the camp and brings with it a myriad
of birdlife as well as all the wildlife that is attracted to the
crystal clear waters flowing down the Selinda Spillway. Rekindling
the ambience of the old Botswana tented safari camp, Motswiri Ketumetse
enchants and romances with its sophisticated simplicity and exclusivity
as the camp has only four East African styled luxury tents that
are built on the ground.
With the variety of adventurous activities in the area include
game walks, canoeing in the clear channels of the Delta, game drives
(day and night)and fishing, five days in this area will allow the
party to experience the different moods of the vast Selinda Reserve.
An intimate camp that is only available to a single private group
or family at a time making it a haven for unparalleled flexibility
and exciting full day activities.
Khwai Mobile
Camp, Khwai Community Concession - 3 nights
After your adventure at Motswiri the journey takes you to the famous
Khwai area for a 3 night stay in a mobile tented camp. The camp
is located bordering the Eastern section of the Moremi National
Park, in an area famous for its community involvement model where
the community have been given the onus of managing this wildlife
rich area thus realising a good income from the safari activities
and reducing the need for subsistence poaching.
Game walks, day and night drives are on the list of activities
in this area characterized by great stands of leadwood and mopane
woodlands in close proximity to open grasslands and the ever suprising
Khwai River. Lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, are the main predators
while a variety of herbivores including impala, elephant, buffalo,
zebra, hippo, and giraffe can be found here.
On your last day your guide will take you on a game drive to the
airstrip to connect with your light aircraft charter to Maun for
onward arrangements as the safari comes to an end.
Cost of safari starts from US$4 375.00 per person based on 6 guests
travelling with a private guide
