Booking Conditions and Cancellation Policy

Upon receiving and reading through your desired safari itinerary and quotation, you will notify Tailormade Safaris in writing of your wish to confirm the travel arrangements. An invoice will be sent to you at which time a non refundable deposit of 20% of the total price is required to confirm the booking. Payment for safari arrangements will be made by bank transfer to the Tailormade Safaris account, the details of which will be given to you upon confirmation of booking. By making any full or deposit payments it is assumed that you have read, understood and agree with your travel arrangements with Tailormade Safaris, the booking conditions, cancellation policy and disclaimer of liability.

We do not arrange and cannot be held responsible for any flights other than any transfer flights specifically mentioned in your safari package. All other flights you may require and book (i.e. International flights and scheduled domestic flights) are your sole responsibility. We cannot be held liable for any delays or additional cost incurred as a result of such flights not running to schedule.
Please ensure that you have all the necessary visas and/or information regarding visas obtainable at the port of entry prior to departure as neither Tailormade Safaris, including its representatives, employees, agents and associates can be held liable for any errors or visas not held by the guests nor the cost of visas.

It is a condition of booking that the sole responsibility lies with all guests, their dependants or travel companions travelling with Tailormade Safaris to have a fully comprehensive insurance cover including, but not limited to, full emergency air evacuation, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, loss/damage or theft of luggage, money, goods and curtailment or cancellation of safari. Tailormade Safaris, including its representatives, employees, agents and associates will not be held responsible or liable for any costs, losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or travelling companion with regards to, but not limited to, any of the above mentioned eventualities.

Before you confirm your booking please make sure your insurance covers you in the event of you having to cancel or curtail your safari due to unforeseen circumstances as we regret that neither Tailormade Safaris, including its representatives, employees, agents and associates nor the respective tour operators that we work with can make any refunds within certain periods. The cancellation fees, expressed as a percentage of the safari cost are as follows:

-A non refundable deposit of 20% of the total price is required to confirm booking. The remaining balance is due not less than 60 days prior to travel. In the case of a booking within 60 days of travel full payment is required upon confirmation.
- Cancellation of booking more than 60 days after confirmation of reservation will result in the 20% deposit being forfeited.
- Cancellation between 31 and 60 days prior to date of travel will incur a cost of 50% of total cost.
- Cancellation between 21 and 30 days prior to date of travel will incur a cost of 75 % of total cost.
- Cancellation within 21 days prior to date of travel will incur a full 100% cancellation fee.
*Please Note: Cancellations are only effected on receipt of written notification. Should Tailormade Safaris not receive full payment 60 days prior to date of travel, they reserve the right to assume the party wishes to cancel their safari arrangements and if cancellation is effected within 60 days of date of travel, cancellation fees are due to Tailormade Safaris, its employees, agents and associates. If any member of the party is prevented from travelling, that person may be replaced by someone else, providing we are notified not less than 14 days before departure.

Should price changes be forced on us by exchange rates, fuel prices etc. Tailormade Safaris reserve the right to notify and charge accordingly up to a maximum of 10% of the total cost of your safari. For a price increase this will come to you as a surcharge and in the case of a price decrease this will come to you as a refund.

The company shall without prior notice reserve the right to occasionally change itineraries, routes and camps as dictated by changing conditions and/or for safety reasons.

For guests on confirmed private guided safaris, while every effort will be made to ensure that guests have their requested guide for the duration of their safari arrangements, in the unlikely event of injury/illness or death of the guide/and or his/her family members, every effort will be made to secure another specialist of similar calibre.

Tailormade Safaris reserves the right without further notice to make use of any photograph or film footage taken on the safari by our staff members or representatives without payment or permission. We guarantee that no photographs of a compromising nature will be used.
